This bar graph compares the number of applicants from four different countries studying at a European university between the year 2004 to 2008.
It is evident that China was the primary source of overseas students from 2004 to 2006, but USA took the lead and become the largest origin of international students from 2006 to 2008. Moreover, USA saw rapid growth over the period of five years.
China recorded 28000 students studying at European University in the year 2004 which fell to 25000 students in the next two consecutive years. Moreover, this decreasing trend continued for the next two years too, which recorded 20000 and 17000 students only in the years 2007 and 2008 respectively. On the other hand, USA showed an impressive rise in terms of the number of students studying at European University. In 2004, this number was 20000 but gradually increased to 29000 by the year 2008.
If we talk about students of the other two countries, both Japan and Russia showed a gradual increase in the number of students studying at the European University each year with an exception in 2005 for Russia. The count of students for Japan and Russia rose to approximately 12000 and 7000 from 7000 and 2500, respectively.
