The chart below shows the movement of people from rural to urban areas in three countries and predictions for future years. EGQB
The given graph depicts the proportion of people migrating from countryside to cities among three countries from 2000 to 2025. Overall, there is a strong upward trend in the movement of people from rural areas to metropolitan regions. At the start of the century, all three countries had almost the same figure of urban migrants. Country A started with around 15 million and then witnessed substantial changes over time, especially between 2010 and 2015, it had soared up from 42 million to 70 million. It is estimated that by 2025, country A would have approximately 85 million people moving away. Similarly, country C also had a slow start from 2000 to 2025, however, it saw a dramatic rise in urban migration, which was projected to accelerate after 2015, surpass country A's estimates in 2020 and is predicted to touch nearly 100 million by 2025. On the other hand, country B deviates from the standard. It had a steady increase between 2000 and 2010, before slowing down its growth from 2015 to 2025 (around 25 million to 30 million). To conclude, although all three countries witnessed growth through 2015, only countries A and C are projected to continue to grow through 2025.
