Overall, it is obvious that the percentage of fuel used in transport industry in Italy, France and Greece increased whereas the opposite was true for that of Slovakia, Spain and EU average. In addition, Austria was the only country that remained stable.
In 2009, Slovakia was the country which consumed the most oil for transportation purpose, with its proportion being at 9%. This was 3% higher than EU average figure, at 6%, far exceed. The figure for Austria, Italy, Spain and France, at 5, 2%, 4, 5%, 3, 9% and 3, 6% respectively. Meanwhile, the proportion of fuel used was lowest in Greek, at only 1%.
In 2010, while fuel consumption for transportation purpose in Australia increased, the percentage of fuel used in Slovakia decreased significantly to 6, 5%. Similarly, the figure for EU average and Spain were remarkably decreased to 5% and 3% respectively. In contrast, the fuel consumption in Italy, France, and Greece increased slightly, at 1, 2%, 1, 1% and 1, 5% in the given period.
