Overall, the number of all immigrants experienced a downward trend throughout the period. Although, there were some fluctuations in the number of people from China, India, and South Africa, the number of British immigrants increased slightly and Fijians had a steady fall.
At the beginning of the period, Britain had the most immigrants about approximately 6000, by the year 2004, it had reached to more than 8000 and was the highest at the end of the period too. Immigrants from China, at first, were almost 5500, moreover, the number of them jumped and peaked at more than 8000 but less than British people in the same year. Then, it had fallen to almost 4500 by 2004.
The number of Indians doubled to above 8000 from almost 4000 between 2001 and 2002 and also it was the peak of Indians during the period. After that, there was a drop to approximately 2500 in 2 years.
