Does the life expectance increase as the years pass by? The graph presented above displays the proportion of people aged 65 and above in the span of 100 years from 1940 to 2040 in 3 different countries. It is visible that the proportion does increase drastically in this span. Comparing, we can see that in 1940, USA had the maximum number of population aged 65 and above, whereas, Japan being the lowest at about 5%, and Sweden at 7. 5% approximately. It can be observed that this proportion rise is very less in Japan until 2030 and an exponential rise can be observed in the growth of the graph, which increases from 10% in 2030 to about 27. 5% in 2040.
