The charts illustrates how many medals were scored by the five leading countries during winter and summer Olympics.
Overall, the US, Russia and Germany appear in both of the graphs, which suggests that they scored the most awards in general. Another important fact that we can observe is that during summer Olympics the leading country won almost four times as many medals as the fifth country.
Russia and Germany are participants who showed fairly similar scores. Both of them won around 200 medals on winter Olympics and about 1750 medals on summer Olympics.
In terms of United States, they were an absolute winner in summer competition, reaching a stunning number of 2500 awards; in the second category, however, their result of 300 was overscored by only one participant, Norway, which managed to raise over 350.
If we look at the remaining countries, namely Great Britain and France, both of them took approximately 750 awards in the summer competition, with a little advantage of the former. As far as Canadians are concerned, during the winter category they won slightly more than Russians (about 200 medals), despite making less golden medals.
