The percentage of children who go to secondary schools by car in Australia and Britain is nearly seven times as high as the figure for those in Singapore with 65% compared to 10%. By contrast, children in Singapore tend to use more environmentally friendly means of transport. In particular, a massive 65% of Singaporean children go to school by public transport while the figure for those in Australia and Britain in much lower, at 12% and 16% respectively. Similarly, walking is also preferred in Singapore with 25% of students far fewer children in Australia (15%) and Britain (19%).
