Universities and colleges are now offering qualifications through distance learning from the Internet rather than teachers in the classroom. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages ?

The debate over learning remotely is somehow difficult due to the various viewpoints each party holds. The question of scholarships versus study in front of a teacher is exceptionally important, as to whether it would be better to diminish the college tuition with less efficiency or to just focus on the quality when a study on campus. Personally, I strongly advocate the former view. This essay will discuss both sides using examples from the United States and New Zealand to demonstrate points. To begin with, there are clear reasons why study remotely does not allow students to develop longer attention spans. This is because study online is packed with many student-friendly games. For example, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that students who learn on campus were 50% less likely to get distracted than students who learned educational materials online. Therefore, study remotely almost certainly has an adverse effect on pupils even with less tuition. However, since the world has become heavily reliant on the internet, there are also clear merits to study online. This is why students with such study will stand a better chance of finding employment. Take New Zealand, for example, after being interviewed by Auckland University psychologists, over 70% of programmers admitted that they had spent long hours study online and take courses. Accordingly, it is true that study online can be beneficial to students. To conclude, although educational network sites might bring individuals closer to get the knowledge, they have not had the same effect on students. Some materials need to be practical in order to promote the future of community life.
