The reading passage explains three evidence to show humpback whales use stars to navigate. However, in the lecture, the professor states that these pieces of evidence are not convincing and provides three supports for his assert. First of all, the author of passage claims that humpback whales' intelligence led to ability that enable them to orient by using stars. While the lecturer repudiates the connection between intelligence and their navigation ability by pointing that other animals like ducks which have a medium amount of intelligence, also have general cognitive ability.
