Over the last few years, there has been a huge rise in the number of vehicles on roads. Though owning a vehicle has many advantages, I believe that there must me restrictions on ownership of vehicles and their usage. In this essay, I will explore some of the problems associated with the heavy usage of vehicles and propose some solutions.
The first problem with the increased number of vehicles is traffic. Traffic creates many issues such as longer travelling time, noise pollution, etc. For instance, in my city, Hyderabad, it used to take 30 mins to travel 20 kilometers earlier, whereas it takes more than 45 mins to travel the same distance now. On the other hand, with the increased number of vehicles, there has been a drastic drop in the air quality index in metro cities.
These can be overcome by encouraging usage of public transport. Not only does public transport reduce traffic, it gives us time to think of ideas while travelling rather than driving. For example, a person travelling to office by own car would already be tired of driving and would be less productive. Whereas, a person coming by metro train would be free of stress.
To sum up, though there are advantages of own transport,
