The reading and lecture are both about some commonly used air purifiers. Where as the author of the reading states pros of these purifiers, the lecturer suggests that there are some cones for each filter. The lecturer casts doubts on the main points made in the reading by providing three reasons. First of all, the according to the reading, HEPA filters are capable in trapping large pollutant particles without producing secondary pollution. However, the lecturer disputes this point. On the other hand, the lecturer believes that these filters can not clear microscopic particles like dust and also fail in removing unpleasant smell from air. In conclusion, although the reading and lecture are both about air purifiers, the three main points made in the reading are effectively challenged by the lecturer.
