The first graph shows us the number of overseas students which apply to australian universitites has gone up steadily in the past decade, with the annual increase being around 25, 000; with highest number of students, 800000, applyinng in 2010.
It is immedietly apparant that, domestic students far out number the international students in the first half of the decade. Although in the second half, the number local applicants have ceased to increase and have maintained a steady high at about 600, 000 students each year thereafter.
Overall we can conclude that, in the past decade both over seas and local student enrollment rates have incresed significantly, more so for over seas students. A common trend in both graphs is that only abou 50% of the enrolled students actully commence with their courses.
