The proportion of male and female academic staff members across different fields of teaching in a major university campus during the year 2012, is illustrated in the given bar graph. At a fleeting glance, the noteworthy feature of the graph is that there were maximum number of male professors in the Engineering faculty, in the year 2012. Secondly, females were the maximum in education department. Analyzing further, there was a major difference in the percentage of male and females professors in the Education department, as the former was approximately 78% and the latter was just 22%. Also, in the Arts department, number of females professor were higher than males by 16 percent. Moreover, male professors were double than that of females, in the Business faculty that is 62 percent. On the further observation, there was minor difference in the proportion of male and females professors in the Medicine department, with just 1%. In the Law department, females number were exactly 40 percent and male numbers were 60 percent. Whereas, in the Science faculty, number of males were above 60% and females number were below 40%. Whereas, in the Engineering department, females number was 18 percent. From the overall analysis, it can be clinched that the number of male professors were higher in a major university staff members as compared to female professors.
