The line graph elucidates proportion of carbon dioxide was emitted per individual in three different countries from 1967 to 2007.
At a cursory glance, the figure of both Italy and Portugal had an upward trend whereas UK and Sweden had a downward trend.
As per the graph, Portugal had the lowest emission rate in the given period, starting at just 2 metric tonnes. The rate witnessed a sharp increase until 1997, followed by a stable period of 10 years at nearly 6 metric tonnes, almost three times of initial amount. Similarly, Italy had the same pattern of the growth, beginning at 4 metric tonnes to finishing at 8 metric tonnes. In 1987, Italy intersected the Sweden’s amount.
Regarding UK, amount of carbon dioxide was exhaled per head was slightly declined from 12 metric tonnes to about 9, however, remained the top position throughout period in the group. Sweden displayed a more erratic changes, initially the rate stood at just above 8 metric tonnes, then rapidly rose in 10 years time and hit above 10 metric tonnes, since then it had declined steadily and the Sweden reached to same position as Portugal in 2007.
