The bar chart gives information about the whole number of minutes of calls in the United Kingdom in three different categories during a seven-year period from 1995 to 2002.
As can be seen the greatest time of calls belonged to local calls through fixed line, while the shortest time of calls was calls by mobiles.
In 1995, the number of minutes of local telephone calls was about 72. This number grew gradually from under 80 in 1996 to around 85 and nearly 90 in the years 1997, 1998, respectively. In 1999, it peaked at 90 billion minutes. Nevertheless, after 1999, it decreased and the total number of minutes in 2000, 2001, and 2002 were the same as the years from 1997 to 1995.
National and international calls via fixed lines and mobiles, on the other hand, experienced an increasing trend during the given period. From 1995 to 1999, the time of calls for both groups rose slightly from roughly 35 for fixed line and less than 5 for mobiles to under 50 and above 10, respectively. From 1999, both groups experienced growth of about 12 billion minutes for fixed line and nearly 20 billion minutes for mobiles.
