The diagram illustrates how many tons of junk food were eaten by inhabitants in the United Kingdom between 1970 and 1990. Overall, whilst the consumption of hamburger and fish & chips witnessed an upward trend, the opposite was true for Pizza. In addition, harburger was the least prevailing/ dominant/ preferable dish/ product. In 1970, Pizza was the most prevailing food choice, with 300 tons being eaten. This figure witnessed a remarkable decrease of 100 tons before slightly rising to roughly 210 tons eventually. On the other hand, the consumption of hamburger and fish & chips stood initially at under 100 tons. Over the following 10 years, that of fish & chips marginally increased to approximately 150 tons, then more sharply to overtake/surpass/exceed the figure for pizza to reach a peak at 500 tons in 1990. Likewise, the quantity of hamburger eaten increased moderately to over 100 tons in 1985, which was followed by a more tremendous growth to overtake that of pizza, at around 300 tons.
