The provided two pictures illustrate some main changes taking place in an area of Assford from 1965 to now. Overall, it is evident that Assford has become a much more vibrant and modern region with the introduction of various facilities. Another interesting point is the improvement of the transport infrastructure. Looking at the information in more detail, one of the most striking changes has been the erection of a road bridge which replaces the original ferry. On the northern side of the road bridge, there used to be a green area with trees scattered around; however, trees have been chopped down to make way for a considerably large car park. Another smaller one, meanwhile, has been built on the opposite side of the river, surrounded by blocks of apartments and houses. To the southern side of the road bridge, there is also a residential area located alongside the arterial road. Furthermore, it is planned that by 2025 there will have been some other changes. The development involves the erection of a foot bridge that runs parallel with the road one and some car parks.
