the cycle of life of a silkworm in nature and the process of making silk cloth yRdjJ
The diagram represents the cycle of life of a silkworm in nature and the process of making silk cloth The process of producing silkcloth involves six steps from cocoon to cloth. There is also four main stages in the life of a silkworm. At the start of the cycle an adult moth lays it's egg on mulberry leaves. Approximately 10 days later the egg hatched into silkworm larvae and then they feed on the leaves they were laid on. Following 4 to 6 weeks eating leaves the surviving larvae cover itself into a silk cocoon. A full silk cocoon takes between 3 and eight days. The first step of silk production involves taking a full cocoon and then boils in in water. The silk thread that makes up the cocoon is unwound and then several strands of thread are twisted together. After boiling and twisting the threads it can be dyed and woven into fabric or vice versa
