Overall, it is evident that the adult fiction books were most popular as compared to other types of books in the given time period. At the first glance, it is lucid that the proportion of adult fiction books was 20% in 1972 and 25% in 1992. After increasing sharply, it reached at 45% in 2012 which is the highest percentage. However, the percentage of children's fiction books was 20%, 22% and 25% in 1972, 1992 and 2012, respectively. Moving further, the percentage of biography books hovered under 20% throughout the given time period which is the least percentage.
