The charts below show the percentage of working time in office spending on different tasks.

The two pie charts compare the proportion pertaining to how an office worker spends his working time on six different tasks during the period between 1980 and 2006. Overall, it is salient that answering phone calls was the major task at the start of the period given, while using computers experienced a sharp growth, occupying the first position of the whole statistics in 2006. More specifically, handling phone calls took the highest percentage in the working time in 1980, accounting for 30%. In the same year, it's striking that the figure of paper documents and meetings share a fairly identical pattern at 20%. In stark contrast, however, time spending on computers held merely 2% of the statistics. Last but equally crucial, 2006 saw a fifteen fold increase in the proportion of computers, reaching at 30%, overtaking other categories. Paper documents and meetings, on the other hand, observed a drastic drop to 10% and 6% respectively. Moreover, it is noticeable that the main difference between two years was the occurrence of the new task, mail, comprising 8% of the total percentage.
