The main purpose of this bar chart is to illustrate different proportions of the IT industry and service industry in the UK. The period given is from 1992 to 2000. All numbers are in percentages. To begin with, at the beginning of the year the IT industry had a very small minority, at over 6%, which was followed by a slight increase by 2 percent in 1994 and 1996. It is worth mentioning that in 1998 IT rates skyrocketed, and it peaked at 14 % in the last year. Looking at the statistics of service production, it could be noticeable that in 1992 and 1994 it stood at 4 and 6 percent respectively. Having increased minimally from 7% to almost 7. 8% between the years 1996 and 1998, it plateaued at 8. 1%. Overall, as can be seen from the chart is that both categories have doubled over the period given, and the IT industry remained as the most popular until 2000.
