Overall study reveals, people who wanted to have their drinks (coffee or tea) in café was slightly higher than those who bought coffee. Where in buying category, survey shows many preferred instant coffee than fresh.
Looking first at café goers data, little over 60% of residents in Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney preferred to go café where in Brisbane (56%) and Adelaide (49%).
When compared with café goers, instant coffee buyers takes the second position, overall about 45% to 55% residents in 5 cities bought instant coffee. During this time 54% of Hobart residents bought instant coffee followed by 53% of Brisbane and 50 % of Adelaide, other two cities were less than 50%.
Lastly, fresh coffee buyer’s percentage was significantly lower than other two categories, throughout the period the overall fresh coffee buyers were less than 45% in all five cities. Sydney and Melbourne recorded 44% and 42% respectively, where as other cities were less than 40%.
