The chart above illustrates different varieties of places which tourists in Britain visited in 1999. Overall, the most visited types of place are the themeparks which have a quite similar percentage of visitors with the museums and galleries. Inside the themeparks there are also categories of famous places to visit such as, blackpool pleasure beach, alton towers, pleasureland in southport, chessington world of adventures and legoland in winsdor. Besides these, wildlife parks, zoos, historic houses as well as monuments are also quite popular among tourists. The percentage of people going to theme parks are winning with 38% with a single percent difference with the museums and galleries with 37%. For others, there is a significant drop in the amount of tourists visiting with historic houses and monuments being 16 % and wildlife and zooz being 9%. The places which people most often go to in theme parks are the Blackpool Pleasure Beach with 47% which have quite a significant difference with other places such as Alton towers having 17% of the tourists visiting, Pleasureland in southport with 16% and both chessington world of adventures as well as legoland in windsor with 10%.
