The line graph provides an overview of the percentage of alteration that took place in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the period of ten years in the Western Cape. Overall, there is steady growth with a sudden downfall followed by a recovery thereafter. For the time period the GDP is provided, it is evident that till 2003, there is a rise-fall pattern followed by the GDP maintaining it around 3. 5 to 4%. In 2004, there was a sudden spike in the GDP, increasing it to around 6% and maintaining the same with slight fluctuations for another 3 years till 2006 and reaching its all-time high at approximately 6 % in the year 2007. However, after reaching its peak, a downward spiral was seen in 2008, keeping the Gross Domestic Product at around 4%. It is evident from the graph, that the fall continued and reached approximately -2% in 2009. Later, it recovered by around 5% and reached around 3. 5% during the end of 2010.
