The chart illustrates how many travellers got injured and the cases of incidents by travelling in different transportations in 2002. Overall, we can see that the number of incidents was relatively higher than the injuries in all categories in which the rates of commuter rail hit a low, while demand response hit a peak. According to injuries, only about 20 million PMT was recorded by Commuter rail; however, light rail accounted almost the same as bus, reaching approximately 75 million PMT and 74 million PMT respectively. Demand response was nearly four times as high as Heavy rail. (250 million PMT and 50 million PMT) The number of people who injured during travelling through Demand Response was highest with slightly above 150 million PMT; as opposed to commuter rail which recorded only 15 million PMT. Heavy rail injured as many as light rail which amounted to around 35 million PMT; in contrast, approximately 60 million PMT was recorded by Bus.
