The changes of the Station Street aQYmw
The given maps illustrate several changes to the Station street during five decades, from 1960 to now. Overall, the Station street experienced considerable alterations during the period shown. The most noticeable differences between the two maps are the disappearance of a chain of shops and the appearance of the super market. As can be seen from the maps, between 1960 and now, the butcher, the toy, the book store, the bakery and the DVD rental store were demolished to make way for the new super market. During the same period, the pharmacy and the fish and chips shop were also destroyed and replaced by the parking and the café respectively. Turning to the other features, we can see from the maps that after fifty – one years, the railway station has become bigger due to the disappearance of the public telephones. The dry cleaner's remained unchanged while the hotel was constructed to replace the parking.
