Taking a general overview, the maximum internet users belonged to the youngest age group (16-24), whereas the oldest age group (the over 65's) had the least percentage of internet users. All age group experienced an upward trend as far as their daily use of the internet is concerned.
It can be clearly seen that in 2003 and 2004, the internet users in the age 16-24 age group we're 80%. In 2005, this figure increased significantly to 100% but decreased slightly to 90%. In the 25-54 age group, there was a gradual growth in the percentage of internet users from about 50% to 60% in 2003 to 80% in 2006.
Furthermore the percentage of 55-64 year old who used the net ranged between 30 and 35% from 2003 -2005 but grew slightly by 15% by 2006. Apart from this, with regard to the over 65year olds, their percentage inclined slightly from 18 to 20% over the four years period.
