The Amazon has always been a subject to Brazilians for a passionate conversation, as much as to ordinary people or politicians - even for foreign politicians. Because they call it “the lungs of the Earth”, many people have been concerned about its conservation. This means stopping deforestation of the Amazon rainforest with mensurable actions such as overseeing deforested areas, satellite monitoring, sustainable development programs and reforestation. As a result, these actions together can preserve this ecosystem. Lately, the Amazon has shown up not just in politicians meeting tables but in the stools of Brazilian pubs, because the common people had aroused for this question. Again, they call attention to some problems that must be stopped before the forest loses to much nature. First wall, the same people that have blamed losing Amazon can take individual actions which are, sure enough, improve this major rainforest. Less use of paper and new wood can be one of these steps. If the population can save paper using draft papers will be better for the environment. Beyond that, reusable wood is a better way to give more life to a material that had been taken already from nature. In essence, is not throw out your furniture made by wood just because it's not trending anymore. Paint, cover, redecorate, add more material. Be creative. Another important individual step would be the decreasing of meat consumption from extensive farming. It’s known that the extensive farming in Brazil for the cattle uses a lot of acres. Since you know the source of your food, if they saving the land, it’s perfect. In reality, soybean follows the same rule. If you know that it comes from a non-reforested farm you shouldn't buy it. Despite the fact that individual actions can save Amazon, we can’t be naive that just small actions will change the actual landscape. More than 750 million dollars were given to Brazil by a range of countries that are concerned about conservation. This money must be used to monitoring and stop the criminal burnings and the deforestation. However, most of them have been used in cultural native programs, native land demarcation, slave (black people) land demarcation. Coincidentally there are in lands full of mineral resources. It’s everybody mission help the political class and ONGs to shift the focus of Amazon preservation to increase actions of monitoring and planting of native species. As long as is in the mind of concerned people, we will have a better way for the future.
