The bar chart illustrates the results of a survey of the buying and consumption habits of beverages (coffee and tea) of the residents living in five Australian cities (Sydney, Melbourne. Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart) in the past four weeks.
It was seen that the consumption of coffee and tea in cafés was higher than the instances where the consumer went to buy fresh or instant coffee in all cities except Adelaide, where the resident’s consumption of instant coffee was a tad bit higher than the ones consuming the beverages in a café. The percentage of residents in all five cities that bought fresh coffee was lower than the other two habits, with the most significant difference being observed in Hobart (a difference of around 25% in cafes and fresh coffee).
The highest percentage of residents that spent on buying fresh coffee was found to be in Sydney (approximately 45%), whereas the least was in Brisbane (approximately 35%). On the other hand, close to 55% of Hobart residents and about 45% of Sydney residents bought instant coffee making them the highest and lowest contributors of instant coffee, respectively. Melbourne had the highest percent of people going to a café (around 64%), with the least going to Adelaide (around 50%).
