The process chart explains the main steps involved in the manufacturing of five different types of tea from the tea leaves. Overview, the production of all types of tea start with growing of leaves and culminating in the oven. It is immediately apparent that although all the teas are made from the same leaves, the differences in the manufacturing processes result in the distinct variants of tea. To begin with, the initial three steps are same for all the teas, which include: growing of leaves, then plucking them and after that withering them. The white tea, which is quite unique, doesnot follow any other process after withering, and directly goes into the oven for drying. However, the rest four types of tea undergo several other processes. Green tea is rolled after steaming, whereas, oolong tea and large leaf black tea are directly rolled without steaming. On the contrary, small leaf black tea is crushed instead of being rolled. Then the green tea is sent to the oven, while, the oolong and both the black teas are fermented, slight and full respectively, and then passed on to the drying stage. After the final step of drying in the oven all five types of tea are ready for the market.
